Bali Legong

Believed to have been initially reserved for the enjoyment of centuries of Balinese royals, traditional Balinese dance is a deeply creative and unique style of artistic expression that aims to bring to life the ancient Hindu epics.

Today, one of the best and biggest spectacles still takes place at the famous Ubud Palace (home of the late Tjokorda Gede Agung Sukawati, last King of Ubud). This is where some of the finest dancers in Bali act out snippets of the legendary Legong dance.

Replete in stunning costumes and acting out the eternal struggle of good over evil, these skilled performers are accompanied by the distinctive percussion of a traditional gamelan orchestra.
